Female supplement company, femMED, (http://www.femmed.com) helps benefit Canadian Celiac Association in Toronto.
Los Angeles (PRWEB) November 05, 2012
Women’s supplement company, femMED, is proud to sponsor the first ever Gluten Free Garage Event, held at Artscape Wychwood Barns on 601 Christie Street in Toronto, Ontario, on November 11, 2012 from 10:00AM to 4:00PM ET.
The Gluten Free Garage Event is a farmer’s market style event with proceeds that support the Toronto Chapter of the Canadian Celiac Association. femMED, the only vitamin/supplement company, will join over 40 vendors in displaying and selling gluten free products.
Gluten is a protein present in wheat, rye, barley and derivatives of these grains. An intolerance to gluten, known as celiac disease, is an autoimmune disorder where the surface of the small intestine that absorbs nutrients from food is damaged by the ingestion of gluten.
Celiac disease affects an estimated one in one hundred Canadians and many more people are allergic or sensitive to gluten. Gluten is commonly found in many food items, but most people are not aware of the fact that it also happens to be an added ingredient in some vitamins and supplements. femMED supplements are gluten free, yeast free, and delivered in vegetable capsules.
Sherry Torkos, pharmacist, women’s health expert, and author of The Canadian Encyclopedia of Natural Medicine, will be at the booth to share her personal and professional experience with celiac disease and gluten intolerance. Torkos will also be available for quotes, interviews, and media appearances.
“We are so excited to introduce women to our gluten-free supplements at an event that helps such an overlooked cause,” said Shawna Page, Founder & CEO of femMED. “We want to help women make health simple by providing them with easy to use, vegetarian-friendly, yeast-free, and especially gluten-free supplements. Gluten Free Garage is a great opportunity to be among some wonderful vendors who share a common passion for health as we do.”
Many of the products in femMED’s doctor-recommended multi-ingredient product line are delivered in the form of vegetable capsules that are suitable for vegetarians and can be safely combined with other supplements in the femMED line to achieve multiple health goals. In addition to being gluten-free, femMED products do not contain artificial colors, flavours, sweeteners or preservatives, fillers, additives, and dairy or egg.
